Removal Of Interflora Google Penalty: A Secret

The silent from Google regarding removal of Interflora Google penalty since March 3, 2013 is giving rise to various questions. And this has happened at the time when Google is re-designing its policy determined for paid links and is speculating to widen its definition by integrating advertorial page followed by links which clears the criteria determined for acquiring page ranking. Although whatever has been Google’s policy the truth is that there has not been any reflection from Interflora in search engines result page from more than a week. However there are some indications which reflect that all these actions are somewhere related with Interflora penalty, because various newspapers in United Kingdom host advertorial pages on their websites followed by dofollow links. On the other side there are rumors that bloggers were given gifts for returning links, by Interflora.  If we believe that all this is done to encourage the practice of advertorial advertisement than it would be important to understand what is meant by Advertorial.

The history of Advertorial dates back to 1946, when advertisements were made in an editorial form but had always been controversial. Initially Advertorial advertisements were encouraged by print media with an objective of raising funds. The main reason which give birth to controversy regarding advertorial was that most of the experts felt that advertisements posted as editorial are considered as impartial by readers which is not always true.

The matter becomes more suspicious when you advertise your product in some highly popularized television program say for instance American Idol. This programmed was being sponsored by famous cold drink manufacturing company coca cola. Although here the product was not promoted directly but indirectly coca cola was making its promotion in front of audiences.

Considering Advertorials as content marketing is wrong concept:

Though whatever the factors have been, it is still matter of debate that are advertorials from of content marketing.Of-course advertorials is form of an advertisement. But there the features of product are promoted, highlighted and endorsed sometimes by celebrities. In these advertisements the benefits of products are revealed to the customers.

On the other side content marketing refers to make people aware regarding availability of anything in form of literature. It involves distribution of information in form of published materials, rising controversies,  organizing training programs etc.

This is the basic difference between content marketing and advertorials.As far as Google is concerned Google has claimed that profits earned non commercial and content of high quality is right method of earning profits.
