Digital Millennium Copyright Act, DMCA is the newly introduced penalty in series of penalties that are applied by Google including Panda and Penguin. The newly introduced penalty may result in bringing down rank of your website to lower position in Google’s search engine result’s page. The new penalty is also named as Emanuel Update because of being appraised and promoted by Hollywood czar Ari Emanuel.

Hollywood does not praises Google: Google has not been liked by Hollywood movie industry from last many years, because Google has laid the content owners to sit back before signing treaty with company. The recent matter is related with D conference which was held during the beginning of this year during which Ari Emanuel, co-CEO of William Morris Endeavour suggested if Google intends to screen the pirated content then it is free to do this. In words of Mr. Emanuel, instead of censoring the contents experts from Google can detect mistakes present in content.

Identifying Pirated content: Before detecting pirated content Google hopes that there is not any kind intrusion of copyright while applying newly introduced DMCA law which abides Google to remove pirated content. This is mainly done only after receiving request from someone. It is not an evidence of copyright but an accusation. However before deleting the pirated or copied content Google intensively conducts research on each request and if it finds suitable than it can removed the disputed content. Application of this regulation means that from next week websites will be supported with a new signal of ranking.

Now the question arises that what is Emanuel Penalty: With an objective to control piracy and copying of content Google introduced Panda earlier this year in February. Later in the year during April introduced one more update i.e., Penguin which operates at regular intervals and is designed for website that are commented with spam.  Google has not mentioned any name regarding the new DMCA update. In this regard Google may say that naming DMCA as an Emanuel is not a penalty but can be considered as compromise. According to Google site affected by Emanuel will not be penalized but on the contrary they won’t be even taken as rewarded websites. Commenting on taking Emanuel as compromise Google said it is not yet known that what will be the process on which this update will work.
